I agree with Sumesh's responses. While this system is 95% mechanical, however we will always have scenarios where 'thinking on the feet' and 'gut feel' will kick in to decide what to do.

Trading is not a 100% science, its an art which means there will always be a scope to make discretionary decisions in 5% cases.

Cheers
SH

Sir
Your strategy is very good. But I tried 5 EMA and 34 ema crossover in 30 min. Time frame for last last one year back tasting and found that results are good. Thanks.

Hi Ajit602,
Did you used only 5 ema and 34 ema in you backtesting or you also included 200 EMA for taking only directional trades ?

sir,
i am talking about. 5 34 ema bullish crossover which happened 30 mar 15. and made a high of 8447. after crossing 8447 in nxt candle. long at 8450 and today you got 8550 high. 100 points from position.
but as per alchemist sir this position should not be taken as we are below 200 ema.
thanks

Dear Alchemist Sir,

In 30 TF Spot Nifty chart, the candle has just crossed 200 EMA.

What other cues do I look for before entry on Monday? That the 5 EMA crosses the 200 EMA and the close of the next candle is above 8600 to confirm the trend. Right? Anything else?

Regards.

Adding one more trade scenario

Lets assume we are on yorker shorts ...

... if 5/34 crossover bullish crossover happens and position is 'neutralised' ...

....and if price retests 200 EMA again....wait for price to fall below 200 EMA again (candle close below 200 EMA after retest) and open fresh shorts at this candle's low break even if 5/34 bearish cross has not happened. SL will be the recent highs made when 200 EMA retest happened.

For example :

Example 1 : check Nifty spot charts of 13th March... spot opened above 200 EMA to retest 200 EMA however 10 AM candle closed below 200 EMA making a low of 8791. Shorts to open at 8790 with SL recent high of 8846. These shorts are opened without waiting for 5/34 bearish cross (Trade led to Huge profits)

Example 2 : check Nifty spot charts of 19th March... spot moved above 200 EMA to retest 200 EMA however 11 AM candle closed below 200 EMA making a low of 8742. Shorts to open at 8742 with SL recent high of 8787. These shorts are opened without waiting for 5/34 bearish cross. (Trade led to Huge profits)

Example 3: check Nifty spot charts of 23rd Feb... spot moved below 200 EMA to retest 200 EMA however 24th Feb 11 AM candle closed above 200 EMA making a high of 8776. Longs to open at 8777 with SL recent lows of 8737. These longs are opened without waiting for 5/34 bullish cross. (Trade hit 40 point SL)

Cheers
SH
