Hello,

Was trying to read the previous posts where i got this-
Trailing SL rule to lock in profits

To lock in profits, use 5/34 EMA bearish crossover to exit the longs. To re-enter, use 5/34 EMA bullish crossover again keeping the recent low as the new TSL. This is provided that 5EMA is above 34 as well as 200 EMA.

Will add more to this strategy as the trade develops in coming days.

But i am unable how it actually works ..Can anyone post the actual trade example of today's trade or this week's trade to throw more light into this...

As RSI is overbought (for nifty index, RSI between 70 & 80 is considered to be overbought) we can do any of three below:

1. Book 50% profit (if nifty has moved up 1% from entry point) OR
2. Sell some OTM calls like 8400 or 8500 in this case (this month series or next month series whichever is trading for more than 100)

If nifty continues to rally, hold calls and do nothing. If Nifty falls to 34 EMA, book profits in shorted calls and hold NF longs as by this time RSI will not be overbought anymore.

Cheers

Yes you can buy puts (next month series and not current month in case we are in the last 2 weeks of expiry).

Alchemist sir,
Hello...Thanks a lot for letting us know this simple and powerful technique... I have tried using this method 3rd time ..though now i am able to understand how to take the entry ( based on bullish /bearsih crossover signals) Still working on the exit points and TSL...still weak in riding the trend Sad .what do we have to do if we are purchasing jsut 1 lot .....if possible can you explain using current NF example ....

I am using this strategy using Options..My query is whether this strategy works in last 2 weeks of expiry in case of options? Do we have use this strategy on current months options for 1st 2 weeks and next month's options on last 2 weeks of expiry to be profitable....

Nifty corrected to 34 EMA today which gave the opportunity to book profits on shorted calls (8400 & 8500). This should have given around 20-30 points profit on shorted calls.

Now should be holding naked longs only...

Hello Alchemist sir,

Let me sum up the strategy ..correct me if I am wrong

So as per the strategy we will take entry on bullish crossover of 5/200 Ema...
There will be no tsl only a fixed SL which is low of a candle before crossover
If we are long n RSI is overbought (70-80 or onwards)
One lot profit booking+ for 2nd lot hedge the position by selling calls or buying puts..hold them till nifty comes n touches 34 Ema...

If nifty revives then carry forward longs till there is bearish 5/34 EMA crossover...
If nifty doesn't revive n 5ema goes below 34 Ema..SL will get hit leading to squaring off the long positions..

If somebody is holding 1 lot only then book profit when RSI shows overbought n can proceed for buying the puts till nifty corrects itself till 34ema..

What if nifty doesn't correct till 34 Ema n changes the direction in between..where to square off the puts?

5/34 bearish crossover and candle lows taken out today which means NF longs exited around 8425 today ... its around 110 points profit...add 20/30 points profit from calls and this trade has given 130-140 points profit.

Now wait for either 5/34 bullish crossover to buy again or 5/200 bearish crossover to open new shorts.

Cheers
