Bullish yorker cross happened at 10.30 AM and candle high was 8382 spot. This high was breached by 12.30 PM candle and highs initiated at 8395 (NF) levels. Previous shorts took 40 points loss at this stage.

Nifty rose quickly and at around 8475 (NF) mkts hit RSI 70 and hence I booked 50% longs at that stage. Rest 50% held. Markets continues to rise later in the day and RSI hit 73-74 levels which allowed me to sell some 8500 calls at 99 to hedge rest 50%.

These calls will be booked on any correction to 34 EMA, otherwise will be held until expiry.

Cheers

SH, This is purely for academic purpose. Kindly let me know my mistake in reading the 10 am candle as crossover instead of 10.30 am.

The details of 10 and 10.30 am candles y'day are:
open high low close 5ema 200ema
10.00 AM : 8374.1 8384.3 8369 8377.4 8361.8 8354
10.30 AM : 8377.1 8381.8 8362.3 8372.1 8365.2 8354

If correction to 34 EMA happens why you cover your 8500 Calls? If 34EMA is crossed then this 8500 call has chances of heading towards 0. In any case if 200 EMA is crossed that is almost sure I think....

as per this "Option" of "Trade Management", 5/200 ema and not 5/34 ema is trend decider for fresh entry as per system and move to 34ema is only considered 'pullback' in main trend continuing till 200ema is also crossed , and move shall reverse to main trend and hence profit on call is booked and future is kept open.....to ride the total trend above 200 ema.

Yes Amitagg has answered it correctly.

Anusantosh - what if nifty takes support at 34 EMA and reverses in the direction of main trend and runs up 300 points before expiry ... we will miss 201 points as we will pocket only 99 points from selling option. Rest 201 points run will not add any profits in the bottomline.

Can you share the excel sheet with entry/exit details , if you don't mind.... Thanks in advance.

Is it a total tally of points or 624 pts per lot?

Hi
I think Hedging the Nifty is good because this is ensuring that your portfolio is not going down drastically.

If we are playing Naked Nifty Future, There are time, I will say most of the time Nifty will be in a consolidation face and if losses persist then they will make your portfolio down in percentage wise.

And when you are playing with big money, you can Imagine how a person will feel if his portfolio is down by 20%.

सो थोड़ा थोड़ा ही सही कम से कम पोर्टफोलियो तो बचा रहेगा|

You are right Hydrogen.

If we are in 100 units nifty trade what may be the ideal hedge quantity of calls or puts? Is that must be 100? Alchemist says kiss of 34 ema to exit, is that price bar touching 34 ema or 5 ema crossing 34 ema with confirmation candle?
It would be very useful if alchemist clarify this...

No am wrong in that. Before writing that I haven't consider their 1% or 2% exit. Then later he updated it can also be hedging at that point.

Hi Alchemist,

When you say we will pocket only 99 points. Do you mean to say you are sure that your sold options would not have increased in price and leaving you with a loss instead of a 99 point profit.

pls throw some light...

Thanks
