John Bogle (known in the US as the godfather of the mutual fund industry) in his recent book titled "The Clash of the Culture: Investment vs. Speculation", has penned down the ugly truths about stock market.

The octogenarian believes that speculators have taken over the financial markets, leaving genuine investors sidelined. In his book, he has pointed out how when he started his career in 1951, the average share of stock was traded once every seven years. Now, it is traded every four months.

As per Bogle, Stock market all over the world has turned into a big casino. Here it is the small investor (or for that matter trader) who always loses.

Amit Baid I fully agree with you and Bogle ,but the only addendum is speculators have always been there on the wall street...Though there domination is now much more prominent (after 1960's in my personal opinion) as it was in 50's and before.

The hard fact that we should admit is that the so called speculators has taken over the whole economic spectrum of the world through financial engineering which utterly diverged from core economic activity of consumption and production and engaged in transacting financial derivatives in gigantic way, which in turn has no foundation of any core economic activity , in the process the stock markets too were taken over .

That's the reason for me to believe that these sky scrapers being constructed without any foundation are going to collapse any time in the future.

Rightly said and identified.

I had already mentioned about this in the above thread........ manipulation cannot be controlled by us......people playing in billions are controlling the market..

We looking at the charts/doing technical analysis....some what identify those buy and sell signal which somewhat is just opposite to those BLUE channel people (who are saying the words of those manipulators)....

So, its always better to read the charts and also play along with the manipulators/trend....to be successful here in the stock/commodity market.

As per my sources, we are heading for an all time high in coming days.....and surely no major selling until that Wink
