Looking at the many holidays in this series and the up and down movement of the Nifty, it would have been more profitable if you had sold the pair. Please correct me if I am wrong.

MSA: Two things we must consider here:
1 Selling options, even opposing pair, means giving 2 sets of margins , one set to broker and one set to NSE. A lot of our trading cash gets locked up
2a Buying option = fixed cost (cost of buy + brokerage+tax) and theoretical unlimited profit
2b Selling option = fixed profit (selling price - brokerage -tax) and theorectical unlimited loss
Hence many people, incl me, prefer to buy an option even taking your points into consideration. Prakash holla
