I have been giving stock positional calls since 22 December 2009 in 'Stocks' columns of this Forum. The latest status of profits from calls given from 22 - 31 December are given below :

CMP on 21 Dec.2009 : 398.75
CMP on 08 Jan. 2010 : 437.35
Profit (%) : 9.68%

Jyoti Structures
Call given on 22 Dec.2009
CMP on 21 Dec.2009 : 162.55
CMP on 08 Jan. 2010 : 185.00
Profit (%) : 13.81%

Federal Mogul Goetze
Call given on 22 Dec.2009
CMP on 21 Dec.2009 : 146.00
CMP on 08 Jan. 2010 : 169.05
Profit (%) : 15.79%

Sterlite Tech
Call given on 24 Dec.2009
CMP on 23 Dec.2009 : 334.90
CMP on 08 Jan. 2010 : 358.90
Profit (%) : 7.17%

No Stop Loss has triggered and one stock has already given target and remaining are reaching towards targets. My advice is to hold these scrips till new scrips qualify for entry. Keep around 10 scrips in your stock portfolio.

Please don't use my stock calls for intraday trading.

Have been carefully observing your calls here and find very much working.
In your recommendation, i see that you also give the strength in terms of %.
Could you please advise from where and how you are able to calculate or get this value?

Hi

Out of 4 Stocks given from 22-31 December 2009, 3 stocks namely Nav Bharat Ventures, Jyoti Structure & FM Goetze have reached at target and 4th stock Sterlite Tech. is just to reach the target. My advice about these stock is that don't exit even after the target, hold these stocks. Now question arises, how to exit and book profit. The answer is - One should hold around 10 stocks in portfolio, if another stock requires an entry, find out the slow moving stock from the existing holding. For selection refer to 20 days ema (closing basis), which stock is near to the 20 days ema and seems to be in down move or slow moving, exit those stocks only, always hold the fast moving stocks. Don't carried away with profits and behave like expert investors and not like common investors.

Have been tracking your calls for some time and all are terrific... I've created an excel for easy tracking of your calls... May be one of us can take time to update the excel on a daily basis to see how the calls have progressed... Hope this is fine with you..

Hi vivek, sdeepa

My stock positional calls are based on technical analysis only. The stock is selected on the basis of about 10 different parameters. One of the most important parameter is Strength. Strength denotes risk reward ratio between 'CMP & SL' as well as 'CMP & TARGET'.

Suppose price of 'A' Stock is Rs. 10 and qualifies for investment with Stoploss as Rs.9 and Target as Rs.13.50

Now risk is Rs.1 (CMP - SL) and expected reward is Rs.3.5 (Target - CMP)

Now Risk:Reward is 1 : 3.5.

So strength is 3.5
Means if risk is Rs.1, then reward expected is Rs.3.5
I give calls only for stocks where strength is more than 3.
