(i) Stop Loss has triggered in Century Enka. Please exit from this Scrip.
(ii) Stop Loss has also triggered in Basf but it has closed just Re.1 below the Stop Loss.
I am sorry I forgot to disclose one point earlier and that is if SL triggered is within half percent of the stock price, we have to wait for next day, if it trades above the SL between 3.00 - 3.30 pm, then hold it, otherwise exit then only.
So here for Basf, we have to wait till 3.00 pm tomorrow and if it trades below Stop Loss within last half hour, then simply exit, otherwise you can hold it.
But if you have already 10 stocks in your portfolio and there is another call for fresh stock, then simply exit from Basf also.
Let's see whether what we can choose for next trading day.
Thanks

Some what confused Hans, according to u , u consider the pole low as per the visibility on charts, (means what is visible on charts) and dont go with the set rule of pole low (which is the level of break out of earlier resistence), in gails case the break out level is 385 rs. and visible pole low is 340 rs, but u have not considered both in ur calculation, pls tell me how u got pole low in gail case?
Ans since i am confused with it, hence i am not able to understand the mismatch concept also. pls throw some light brother. |
You are right Harsh, I decide the pole as per visibility on charts. I don't taken into consideration the level of resistence what the stock breaks. I calculate the target in a conservative manner i.e. by selecting small pole and calculate the target from the low of breakout candle.
The strength of Gail was coming around 8 and profit was coming around 12%. But in better economic way, when strength is more, the profit should also have been more, but in case of GAIL & Yes Bank the ratio of profit and strength was mismatching. Incidentally both these stocks have not fared well, Gail is falling for last two days and Yesbank has also fallen today.
As per my experience, the ideal situation is that profit in percentage should be 3 times of the strength, i.e. if strength is 4, profit should not be less than 12%.
Thanks

The chart given by you is on the closing price of 19/01/2010 and that was a lost opportunity. we have to check only stocks with closing price of today i.e. 20/10/2010
Thanks

Hi Harsh & Babu
Bharti has given a breakout but as per my opinion it is not fit for investment as of now. See, there are two poles, one pole of 17/12/2009, which is single day pole and we cannot consider single day pole as breakout and also if we select this pole, it does not fit in risk reward ratio.
Secondly if we take pole from 27/11/2009 to 11/12/2009, then the breakout must be above 335 and preferably above 349 levels. Let's wait till bharti reaches that level and only then we will take a decision. If we invest now, i think it will be a premature.[/b]

Hi, few more suggestions coming through PMs like Nirma, DCM, Ajanta, West cost. out of these DCM, Ajanta and West cost does not qualify RR Ratio. We may consider Nirma for final calculation.

As per my filter Alembic and Mahindra lifespace, Havells look good. These may not fit Han's criteria though apart from Havells.

Hi All
I am very thankful to all the members for helping me in selection of stocks. I am attaching here excel calculation sheet for analysis of stocks for final selection. I request all the members to practice the selected stocks and match with my final levels and recheck again. Please do practice on your own as I wish you to learn and select stocks on your own and make your own decision for investment. As I have already disclosed, I will not be giving stocks for long in this Forum. I think now most of the people have already learnt the flag pattern and this is the only pattern on the basis of which I have selected and invested in 80% of the stocks since last one year. In the next few days this thread will reach at a level that if any new member just reads the entire thread he can do his investment by learning and practicing. We will also practice other patterns in coming days.
Thanks

Hi Hans,
I'm very happy to see the kind of information been shared in this forum, this gives some hope of learning technical analysis with live examples. But it would be great if you can prepare a step by step process to select a stock, indicators to consider, calculate RR ratio, calculate Stop Loss & Target etc.
