I have been using ST in 2 Hours & able to catch big moves
I feel, in lower time frame, you will have many whipsaws

maddy.. can u share yr settings and the derivstives u trade with those with backtest if u have
as i can see the whips can be quite large in higher timeframes...

actually there are many reasons i have chosen not use in big time frames.
1) stop losses are big.(as kingkrunal said)
2) second waiting for trade to come(initial big moves are lost)
3) when market is in sideways one day long one day short, swing stops hit a lot without getting much profits continuously for a month(sept2012-oct/ jan13)
4) taking holiday is very difficult trades are long...
these are my reasons for doing small tf...may suiting for my style of trading..
for whipsaws , i read somewhere in this forum itself , very rightly written whips saws are part of trading..one must digest them..following on setup over period of time you will defiantly earn good money after whips...

as i can see in chart u using 64 ema low for bnf... pls post the rules for bnf if possible...

I trade with 2 hours spot chart of Nifty & Bank Nifty with settings as 2,8 with 34 ema. Results are good

usually its 10 mins chart 64ema and ST 8,2 (since it is strong uptrend i waited for it close below ema plotted on low)

i do not have backtest results for this. just an example(i know these trades are once in a quarter trades) but this current trade of banknifty i am long from 11072 almost 1400 points...35k...if you properly trade in 10 min i suppose you get good amount of returns..

I found Super-Trend(10,3) better than 8,2..Just an input..if you can back test.. and i request to start a New thread for this.. EMA 64 a very good find...
