Dear sir
In chart you indiacate short on immediately at 34-ema. How did you decide this? You analysis is perfact but guide.
Also guide how to decide swing pivot?
Some time we indicate swing low / high and some time we consider this high / low as swing pivot.
Please guide
Regards
Ashis

Pls see my earlier post of April 13, wherein I had shown that the SBIN had breached the Swing Pivot at 2080.05, but I did not shorted because of higher SL which was not afforadable to me, but that was the only legitimate entry. So I did the second best thing as soon as price got rejected from 34, I shorted with lower SL at 2114.5 and the entry was also a bit closer to SL @2095-94.
For rest of your queries you need to go thru the strategy documented by Speculator and posted in the begining of this thread. Also pls go thru various posts from the begining, Speculator has explained various aspects of the strategy beautifuly and it will help you understand better.
Hope you will find it helpful.

Hi,
Today shorted on rejection, but covered in the end, at cost/minimal loss, as there was no follow thru.

The downswing pivot is currently at 5371. So technically we are in a downtrend. However it does not take much to reverse that trend. A quick 70 point upmove can reverse that trend. 5217 is the key support here, which was the high volume candle of April 22. Until we break above 5371 or break below 5217, there will not be any follow through on any moves.
We are exactly at the midpoint of the swing pivot and ket support as of today's close. The best strategy in these kind of situations is to take a intraday trade and convert it to swing trade, if either the pivot or key support breaks. Otherwise just close it as a intraday trade. It will be frustrating action, until we are stuck in this range.
Good luck

Quick update. Yesterday we broke above the downswing pivot at NF 5131. That puts us in an uptrend now. The upswing pivot is now NF 4976. If one is not already long, pullbacks should be used to get long using rejections from 34 ema. Many stocks broke thru their swing pivots as well - ICICI, Hindalco, TataSteel....many more. Watch for pullback on those stocks to get in.

With the new recovery highs yesterday, swing pivot moves to 5088. We made only a marginal recovery high and got overbought on the Stochastic shown in the chart. 5088 is a must hold on this pullback. The Stochastic is not yet oversold. If the Stochastic gets oversold and turns up, and the price holds the 5088 pivot, then we should get another leg up. Otherwise we would be back to downtrending mode again.

Quick update. We broke the swing pivot at 5088, which is a very negative development. We are back to downtrending mode again. For swing pivot followers, that was a clear exit signal to close the longs. My sincere advice to anyone here is not to stay in long positions for any reasons whatsoever.
I generally don't like to mix fundamentals with technicals. We are in a environment where not only the technicals are negative, but the fundamentals are extremely dire. I mentioned about the gravity of the European situation a while back in shoutbox, but it was met with laughter. The Euro made fresh lows against dollar today, back to it's pre-intervention lows. So essentially the Euro bailout package failed !. The crash on the S&P 500 last week was a warning to longs big time. There will be plenty of time to position long when we build a proper base to rally from. For now, the right position is to be either short (if you can withstand the volatiltity) or cash. Please don't carry overnight positions in longs, until the dust settles.
