We got a new low below 5376.15 on 21st Mar 2011 after coming back from 34 ema @ 5420.25. However, the RSI did not go to OB at that point. Is this the reason why 5420.25 did not qualify as a pivot?
Im sorry but I m not able to get the "above 5360" condition.

We got a new low below 5376.15 on 21st Mar 2011 after coming back from 34 ema @ 5420.25. However, the RSI did not go to OB at that point. Is this the reason why 5420.25 did not qualify as a pivot?

RSI 5 Overbought or oversold we used to see only for profit booking . It has nothing to do with pivots. pivot is purely based on price highs and lows only.
My suggestion is dont get confused with RSI 5 initially. and in your chart plot only 34ema and 8ema . No volumes no lower indicators like RSI etc. For starting it will help to avoid confusion.
and dont spend too much of time in finding pivots. Believe me, finding pivot is not going to do any great help for your trading. But it is essential in long run to run on your own. As of now use speculator's daily posting of pivots and trend. and based on that, TRADE rejections and make money. If you start trading then automatically in a short period you will be another master like Spec.

Raja,
5420.25 not because of RSI5 OB,in simple way -In dwn trend if price create lower low, then highest price below the previous pivot should be our new pivot.

Thank you as always. This 5Tf work very well to me.Ystrday big gains in Axis & Nifty, reliance& tatasteel just 2 points SL hit. But today all trades r rocking

Jai2000,
What are the pivots you are using for deciding the trend? Is it the same 15-min pivot or different? If it's different, what is the trend and pivot now for NF in 5 min TF?
Since you are trading in stocks also, when you look at the chart of a stock for the first time, how to know the trend and pivot for that stock?

Nifty is still downtrending, but we got a nice bullish rejection today. When you get a rejection which is counter to the prevailing trend, you trade it as a intraday trade and the position should not be carried to the next day. Only when the rejection is in the direction of the trend, you carry the position overnight.
15-min: Downtrending, Downswing Pivot 5552
30-min: Downtrending, Downswing Pivot 5552
Copper:
Copper made a new recovery high today above 437.85 (18/3 highs). So the pivot moves to 426.4
30-min: Uptrending, Upswing Pivot 426.4

Will 451.7 (07/03 High) be a major resistance to copper........
Is it good to cover partial positions @ this level.....

Dear sir,
Your valuable comment in bellow points will help us so requesting you to guide us in bellow matter.
As you mentioned that in down trending market when market make new low then highest point is our swing pivot and with the help of that we came to 5552 level for down trending market. Now yesterday we found that market make new high 5553 so now we are in uptrend and sir your mentioned 15-min and 30-min. 2-different swing pivots.
Now requesting you to please guide us that when down trending swing pivot 5552 is broken then why we didn't consider lower price around 5558-5568 is our swing pivot?
Is it true that in down trending market we have to consider high price as down trend swing pivot and in Up trending market from where market found rejection (34-ema) then that candle's low is swing pivot?

Sorry, i had incorrectly mentioned the pivots on 25 March. Both 15-min and 30-min pivots are at 5360.
Nifty:
