One of my thrilling experience yesterday, 15TF pivot trade @crudeoil.Usually my entries are always at pivot cross.Yesterday crude crosed upswing pivot @4400 and my short sell order trigerd @ 4398. Low was just 4397 and again it crsd dwnpivot @4439. So my Loss 40 Points. It made new high @4470 and again it crosd downswing pivot too@4397.Again 40 points loss. BUt below 4398 low was 4242.......( 156) points. All happend within 4 hrs. Day end my net profit 35 points after all loss! I'm really happy to got yr strategy.Previous 2 swings were 130 + 180 points.
[ (4442-4575) (4512-4326)] .I got 100+ 110 points!
Thanks& Regards,

Jai,
A few whips were avoidable here.
First let the candle close - above / below the Pivot, then take the entry.
Alternatively you may use a small filter above / below the pivot to take the entry.
Filter size depends upon the volatility of the underline security and one can easily get to know with a little bit of hit & error.
Secondly, when there was no follow up move after the pivot break you should have come out at the minimal loss, say with SL below the breakout candle, no need to take higher loss.
Great discipline keep it up. You won't be a loser.

Profitrd,
hellow, rock solid , firstly i've backtested Spec sir's system more than 2 years data with 8 to 10 stocks, Nifty, and few commodities. I'm more satisfied & comfortable wth his system.Yesterday SL was 40+40 points, which is ok to me and my initial lot would be 1,following his moneymanagement & all rules, so i can trade without tension. To be honest ........kind of machanical trading...... trading his system nearly 15 months,no emotional now.....

Sanchit,
Tks! If the profit is above 2% without retrace to 34 ema, then i'l book my profits and will reenter @ rejections, or else i'l hold until the trend change.

Folks,
I have put all the relevant pages of the Swing pivot technique now in a different thread for anyone new to this technique to reference. Please use the current thread for all discussion and let's keep the SSPS thread clean so that it contains only the information related to the technique.
http://www.icharts.in/forum/viewtopic,t,3444.html#26079
Also for the first time, i am making a slight change to the rule #3 for rejections.
The earlier rule said "We need to close above 8 ema for bullish rejections and close below 8 ema for bearish rejections"
I have changed this rule to "For bullish rejections the 8 ema should be rising and for bearish rejections 8 ema should be falling"
The rationale behind the rule #3 was to determine when the pullback to the 34 ema had ended. Price closing above 8 ema does not always gaurantee that. When the 8 ema is falling towards the 34 in a bull trend, it means that the pullback is still in progress and the intraday momnetum is still down. So it makes sense to wait until the 8 ema starts rising in case of a bullish trend and vice versa in a bearish trend before taking the rejection trade. This minor rule change will avoid many whipsaws based on some back-testing i did.

BNF30 min upswing (still going on with pivot 10330) is an example of pivot not moving at all.
