Delta provides a perspective on the macro direction of the market. It was promoted by Welles Wilder who is more famous for SAR, ATR, RSI etc. and was bought by him from a gentleman named Sloman. It is essentially a swing trading system based on time cycles.
As you may already know, delta is not based on support and resistance or areas of congestion. Neither is it based on trend lines, momentum studies, moving averages or oscillators, Fib etc.
Delta gives primacy to time as opposed to price in traditional TA. It relies heavily on cycles and that gives us an approximate "time zone" to expect a market turn. The predominant cycles used are 4 month, 1 year, 4 year and 19 year cycles. A lot of delta practitioners hence try to catch absolute tops and bottoms of a trend.
When in the US, Delta curiosity made me follow a gold newsletter writer named 'Ron Rosen' who practiced Delta as part of the delta society. The results were mixed.
Bottom line: It is a system as any other, but I would not let it alone determine my trading decisions.
