Ajay
dont sell yourself short. rather do it with the nifty or any counter of your choice
as shakespeare said, 'winning isnt everything, it is the only thing' ok. ok. it might have been said by someone else.
imo, this thread is likely to become a sticky one. it is absorbing, and engaging.
let the nice times roll.
nice day, folks.
Cheers

Rupee rosé from 51.89 to 51.42…..Up by 1% suggesting very strong flow of FII money still continuing. Moody’s upgrade of India to investment grade contributing for the massive flow of Dollar from pension and other hedge funds.
Presently most of the money might be going into debt market, it is only question of few days for the massive infusion into equity Markets.
If you believe in the above fundamental reasoning. No one needs to tell you what to do at least for the short term. |

For equities, our domestic institutions have managed to brake the momentum. But if the inflows continue , we will see some real bullish moves.
Time to party for the bulls? |

Large Accumulation/Distribution in the market is always associated with lighter price action. I think the FIIs are doing the same. They are building up some positions....dont knw the direction yet....But most probably for the upside.... |

yesterday FIIs (net) sold NF and (net) bought options. so did they buy puts or sold puts to hedge? may be the former since they also seem to be selling calls. |

Vinay ji, i doubt whether FII ever sell options. They Buy options and Buy/sell Futures.

arjun, generally highly experienced players/traders always "write" or sell options. It is highly risky since there is no limit to loss unlike when you buy optiuons where your purchase cost is the limit since at the most it can go to zero. Selling options is not for people like me. |

Yaa i know that. But i heard on CNBC sometime from Mr. Singhvi that FII don't sell options. So wondered.I may be wrong. But i remember hearing such thing.
Sell options---> I mean 'Short' options or Write Options |

Vinay
Does that mean FIIs expect the market to go down in the short term?. Apologies if this is a silly question. |

josabr, if you listen to the experts on TV, you will find two opposite opinions. from what I have heard, FIIs are also confused like all of us. some talk about 5100/5200 and some below 4700. best to follow indicators and be flexible. for example, right now I am carrying small quantities of both calls and shorts. my hopeful targets being 4830 and 4885 today or monday. whichever comes first, I will square off one position.
and it is not at all a silly question |

I only can say FII's don't let us to read there mind/actions so easily. At least not from the available market data.
The very reason is it may blunt there advantage.
