hi friend, my personal observation is gap down stocks, specially stocks with up trend, yet opened in a gap down manner are good opportunity for long,

personally, after confirming a trend i use fibo calculator under the link CALCULATOR to determine entry and exist points, and i hv found that any gap down from the designated entry point normally results in good up move,
due to this reason, i personally like gap down stock to take a long position.

as far as taking position within a seconds concern, i generally avoid to jump in the market in this manner, in fact i always prefer to wait for 10-15 min to make an entry, so the possible bias of the stock be clear before i make a move, after all there r lots of scrips available for trading, if i miss an opportunity then there is always a second chance, but if i jump at the starting bell, i may end up loosing my hard earned money, so i avoid jumping with the opening bell, im not an expert, but its all my personal feelings

quite an elementary question amit sir.... Very Happy (i wonder if it is asked seriously)

a scrip making higher high and higher low for a particular time frame can be considered as up trending scrip for that time frame

a scrip making lower high and lower low is considered as down trending scrip as well Very Happy

there are lots of setups and specialist ideologies to confirm a trend also....
u may find such theories in google search....
