NSE has revised Lot sizes of all Indices and most stocks in FnO segment. For instance Nifty lot size will be 75, BankNifty 30, Unitech 67350, JP Associat 45175. The revised lot size file is attached.

Is it an attempt to drive away retail investor from FnO ? The margin requirement for minimum 1 lot trade is going to go up 3-4 times from nov. How many can afford ?

sometimes they want retail to participate, sometimes they don't want.
sometimes they want PN's to be issued , sometimes they don't want.
sometimes they want to encourage the poor, sometimes they don't want.
sometimes they want people to hold MF's for a long time, sometimes they say portfolio has become dormant.
sometimes they want to simplify the procedures, sometimes they introduce 200 sections to simply say that you can't do anything.
sometimes they say brokerage should be so low to encourage trading, sometimes they say minimum payment would be increased 3 times.
who are they?

Now we can understand why there was a secret meeting of FII and many Funds CEO with Arun Kately.

Arun Kately is bigger thug than Chidu and the Omaha of Mann Ki Bakwas interested to dig in and grab more Dollars.

Truly said about India for Indians " Unity in Diversity".

It is the NOBLE intention (often misguided) of GoI to spare/ protect the small investor. With this noble objective, they banned MiniNifty! They didnt realize that we have to now go for larger lot as hedge, increasing the risk!

Same muddle headed, "IGNOBLE" thinking has prompted the changed lot size in current instance

I challenge SEBI and GoI to make one small change: anyone buying NFO should be forced to put in the entire amount (no loan from broker). Hence the buyer's broker is fully covered, and on passing on amount to NSE, NSE is also covered
OR
be forced to put up margin equal to amount received for selling NFO + further margin = 25 to 50 % of amount recd. Margin should be passed on to NSE. Review can be done on day to day basis

Then let us have economical lot size like 10 shares BNF or 20 shares NF or equivalent!

People are anyway going to take a chance. It is upto SEBI/ NSE to put reasonable restrictions and allow trading!

(See the analogy in liquor. With prices zooming to protect the consumer and make windfall profits for the Govt, we are now seeing the return of illicit hooch and liquor deaths.

Similarly, we will see the return of illegal badla, undha badla etc from pre 1990 days of BSE, on which MOREOVER, GoI will NOT earn any ST, STT and IT, or have any control)

Prakash, loan/funding by brokers is banned for a long time in F&O but large funds and broking houses anyway fund HNIs by an innovative route. They advise HNIs to short far away options at prices they know would never come. This way, HNIs collect a lot of money and then trade.

vinst, losers are not arranged but are always available. there are plenty of suckers in the markets. far away options means e.g. either say 8900ce of august or higher for further months. there is regular trade going on. Even if you don't see buy/put orders, you will see once you put your order.

I have bought a few times at much lower price than previous close when there was no order visible. Smile

It is surely a means to drive away small time players.
Now people may go "Options" way due to margin requirements in Futures,
Next move may be increasing span margin percentage as well.

Did we scare you, no dont go away, we need you!
China's massive jhatka to Asian currencies may cause some re-thinking in SEBI offices. GoI needs aam admi participation to keep NF floating high. May be we may see postponement if not cancellation of STUPID increase in minimum lot size for FnO?

I think it is not an attempt to drive away the retail investors from F & O, it may be an indication for the correction.Because even after 150 points rally, yesterday, there was no shifting to the higher strikes of call options,so there will be a chance for downwards again..

The basic problem is that we have a Maa- Baap Sarkar which tries to bottle feed us as if we are infants incapable of elementary decisions and logic
It is also true that many Indians behave as if they want bottle feeding from birth to death!
Look at the anguished pleas from investors burnt after November 2010 fall from 6200 peak. They wanted the Government to protect them with some form of insurance scheme or buy the shares from them at cost! (No one objected to making money while NF zoomed from 4500 to 6200)
We will see the same morons complaining if market falls from present highs
