There is a discussion going on Shout box today, as to how zerodha charges and they are comparing it with RSKV.

Look at this contract note from zerodha.

Disclaimer - it is not my contract note. copied somewhere from the net
I can publish the source from where it is copies - but donot know if it is right to mention that website. So not mentioned.

If i chart admin allows it... i will publish it here the link

Hi

Following are the brokerage charges of few discount brokers, except RKG all of them provide free online trading terminal (Zerodha Trader or NOW)

Zerodha charges 20 INR per trade, no plan for unlimited trade
RKSV charges 1947 per month for unlimited trade in freedom plan
Tradesmartonline charges 1500 per monthfor unlimited trade
RKG charges 9 INR per lot
Achiievers charges 500 INR per month for unlimited trade in Equity and FNO in their Mega Value Plan (minimum 1499 INR for 3 months). However their default brokerage is quite high.

IMO, for FNO trading (for day traders) Zerodha is no more a cheaper alternative, moreover for future traders their transaction charges are on the higher side, though stamp duty is on the lower side. But for option traders stamp duty doesnt matter much.

Good work saumyaji,
Trader who trade with his system or plan, and making profit consistently will provide him success and confident, will need not worry about the brokerage plan.

A little off topic...
Can Zerodha users give some feedback please...?

I use ICICIDirect and its ok...but their brokerage is insane for options...
Also I have seen that everytime the market crashes/shoots up, the website is down...pretty consistent observation since the past 3 yrs.

1. How are Zerodha speeds
2. How is the charting software..? Any alternatives? I currently use the free version of chartnexus...
3. Any customer support..?

I plan to use it only for Options. Might open an account this week, so please suggest if there are any other alternatives...

Sorry for hijacking the thread Embarassed

Thanks,
Beo

1. good. u either use nse's software now.exe or zerodha trader.

2. u gotta pay some amt monthly for chart plus. you get a free trial with it though. and there is algo-trade recently made available, as per your ema algo setup trades will auto-execute if you want.

3. good so far the no. of times i have had to use email / phone.

Thanks much apka..!
I dont use any algo trading, I'm really good at loosing money without fancy algos.. Laughing

But I do feel the need for a slightly better charting software. The guy I talked to said that their software is free with a trading account.

Will go ahead with a basic FnO account for now...

Thanks again,
Beo

1. How are Zerodha speeds

"Zerodha speeds are excellent

2. How is the charting software..? Any alternatives? I currently use the free version of chartnexus...

"Charting software is poor..it is provided by omen. But for algo it is ok. For general Charts usage...iCHARTS are the best.

3. Any customer support..?
Zerodha Customer support is very good.

I have been using Zerodha since 2011. Nowdays some even cheaper brokers have entered rksv,vpsshare...Do check them also
